Uphold Solutions, LLC was founded by Darren Widder, who also serves as the organization’s licensed qualifying officer. A systems innovator with more than 16 years of experience in organizational leadership and program/project management, Darren has built his career on solving complex business problems, empowering teams, and creating practical systems that deliver measurable results for businesses, communities, and individuals across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Before launching Uphold Solutions, Darren served as Director of Special Initiatives at Upper Peninsula Michigan Works for 7+ years, where he oversaw over 25 federal and state grant programs, secured over $8 million in competitive funding, and led cross-sector partnerships with schools, colleges, government agencies, and businesses. Additionally, he has 5+ years of experience as an IT, network security, and telecommunications technician field supervisor at Northern Michigan University (NMU).

In addition to his program management and technology expertise, Darren is a Michigan licensed Maintenance & Alteration Contractor (#25250019), specializing in technology integration with a professional finished look with wood, metal, and composite materials. This unique combination of strategic workflow optimization, smart technology system integration, and craftsmanship allows Uphold Solutions to meet its customers’ end-to-end project needs.
